Facebook is social media. If you start putting technical discussions there eventually everybody and his brother, with little to no tech knowledge, will want to chime in.
FB might be a good way to stimulate new (young blood) interest in the hobby but I'm not sure FB can be closely moderated, maybe it can and if so then posting discussions with photos, circuit descriptions, and videos might be a good idea. This might be a really good way to grow Amateur Radio and Boat-anchors/Toob radios in particular.
I do like and use DIY videos posted to YouTube and excellent examples are those by WU2D, W9RAS, and W7EKB.
Perhaps a test site should be tried to see how the experiment goes.
