It depends...:-) By that I mean that there are two different heights
shown in the drawing in Figure 2 of the manual I posted at
http://aafradio.org/docs/SCR-AR-183-283_manual.pdf
There is a 1.25" figure from the bottom of the FT-100 to the bottom of
the mounted transmitter, and a 1.75" from the bottom of the FT-100 to
the top of the snap slide post. That one does not make immediate sense,
as that post is not 1/2" long, and the reference point is not at all
useful except as a data point of the overall height of a "just out of
the box FT-100" without anything mounted on it. I suspect the
difference is that the weight of the transmitter compresses the mount by
about a 1/4 inch. That's pretty close to the measurements on my
SCR-AE-183 set.

They used them on a variety of equipment, mostly from the 1930s, but one
could use a standard small Lord or Barry shock with an extension on it.
I don't know of any sources for NIB shock units.

Absolutely. The frame of the mount is 1/16" aluminum. (I don't know
what this mm stuff means... :-) ) You can also enlarge your search to a
Navy GF transmitter mount, which is identical except for the
nomenclature plate.
