Thanks very much for all the excellent advice!

~ Malwarebytes - http://www.malwarebytes.org. The FREE version works well.
There is also a paid version which runs all the time in the background.
Many users make the mistake of starting the TRIAL version of the software.
(A FREE version is free, there is no TRIAL period.)

It looks like the truly FREE version is no longer offered. I clicked on the
only "FREE" version that they showed on their website, and downloaded their
.exe file. When I went through the installation process, it said my free
trial period had expired. Having previously downloaded it, and used it
successfully, it had disappeared from my computer. Would you recommend
buying it, or trying a different free one?
