Thank you for the helpful comments, Mike.
When I created the front end overview, my intention was to avoid being too
specific.
The page is meant to be about the modification, not a detailed itemization
of all the
models.

1. The page may get hits from people searching for Uniden scanners -- the
BC will
probably generate hits -- so the lead-in was meant to be brief and to make
it clear to
those people that the page is not for them.
2. The text makes clear that other coil sets can be modified in the same
way to raise
them to bands of interest. If I were to be too specific, those with other
models would
be deterred from the outset.
3. I have specifically stated that the mod was performed on the C-381 coil
set. I can't
be more specific than that.
4. My understanding, from someone's reply to a question on this very group,
is that
scarcely any difference exists between the various transmitter models AC
thru AS,
that they were merely revisions, and were undocumented. Am I correct in
that? Is it
possible that those revisions consisted of superficial things like a better
grade of wire
(or insulation) or different routing of wires to make assembly easier?

I'm aware that the five coils are not the only ones that will work, and was
fully aware
of your interchangeability pdf chart.

It's a dilemma -- be too specific but correct and risk the lead-in being
bogged down
in minor detail, or broaden the appeal and hope that readers can sort out
what they
want from the page?

It's probably time that a Wikipedia page was created for these sets, and if
it ever gets
started I will make a link to it from my page. That may go some way towards
resolving
the issues you raise. In the meantime, I'll think about your suggestions
and try to come
up with a solution.
