Frank Jones' "Beginners Transmitter" uses a 53 as a push-pull crystal
oscillator, and his "Beginners 1-Tube Receiver" uses a 19 or a 53. A 1G6
would work well in that circuit.

The trouble with the 19 is that it has a 2 volt filament. I don't see how you
could use those in a BC-230, but maybe...

Both the 10, the 10Y and the 801 have 7.5 volt filaments and are single
triodes.

I might suggest the 53, 6A6, 6N7, 6SN7, or the 6BL7 if you are looking for
twin-triodes for a transmitter. All those have 6.3 volt filaments and would be a
bit easier to work with. The 6BL7 is particularly neat, IMHO.

I am not quite sure what you plan to do concerning the BC-230...
