Funny you should mention 19 tubes.

I'm just finishing up a bread board version of "The Last Ditcher" for a 
1947 QST.

I get about 2.5 watts out with ~135 volts of B+.

Going to use it as the mate to my 19 tube rx at a qrp event the local 
club has going.

Along those lines, would a 30 or 1H4 be a candidate for a 203 substitution?
