Hi Dave and list,

Thanks much for continuing your research and sharing it will all of us.
  It is *much* appreciated. :)

(note: I've done some snipping of the original post.)

Awesome! I'll need to check my inventory and get cracking on doing the
same.

The retaining rings look to me to be crying out to be used in some
fashion to mount the 6AQ5's / 5763's. Lead length may present a problem
however. That may also be an issue with a 4-pin socket.

For those who mentioned 'nanner plugs...the small pins on a 4-pin socket
measure 0.124", so a mini-'nanner that is 0.120" in diameter may just
work. The fatter pins measure 0.155", and the Keystone catalog shows a
0.175" plug...so a regular-'nanner plug may be too big.

I will do some playing around with a possible PCB layout as I get time.

AM would be my preference. CW requires a level of quiet and
concentration not easily achieved around this house. (8 year son,
mother-in-law, cats, dog, etc...)

When I get my set up and running, perhaps I can lend what little
brainpower I have to that investigation. ;)

thanks much and 73,
