Hi all,
I had been away from my computer. After reading all the posts, I
just now sent this very humble and restrained statement to the seller:
*"Thank you for the added photos. All of your photos are well-lighted and
focused. This is unfortunately rare on Ebay. All of the major original
components are present and seem undisturbed. Even the often missing antenna
relay is present. *
*Do you know if the upper part of the case was waxed or polished with
something like Armor All? Was this upper part repainted or are there areas
that appear touched up? *
*I cannot find a reference picture for this but, looking at the seventh
photo, I would have expected to see VT-136 labeled forward of the two
middle tubes similar to the labeling forward of the last end tubes and
middle crystal.*
*Other concerns are based on two more observations. The knobs appear to be
worn from use, but there are no missing 3/8 " or larger flecks of paint
anywhere. Picture three shows the inside shield to be oxidized and some
components with dust and dirt, not consistent with the cabinet.*
*I really do apologize for these questions and I hope I avoided any
accusatory tone. I am relatively new to buying WWII radios and am far from
an expert.*
*Thank you."*
I did not do any fact checking before the VT-136 comment.
I will not be bidding on this. I have only purchased radios that I can use
and
learn from.
