Or selling this wooden sandal and a roll of tape I got at the hospital. Actually the wooden sandals should be sold in pairs because you never know which foot will be the next victim. FWIW they lightly tape the broken toe to the next larger toe for stability and alignment. Then the wooden sandal to prevent bending. 3-4 weeks and all done. Very minor pain and driving and walking ( albeit slowly) is no problem but the brain is asking me to get my arse in gear and I tend to over act.
From all the responders to my original post, I've learned that this is a common problem for us collectors, worldwide!
Glad I'm not alone! Maybe create a new list: "Toe Benders and Breakers" ? Someone must have wacked a BC-610 by now.

All this talk of toe damage leads me to think that an entrepreneur could
make a killing selling boat-anchor bumper guards to the list.
