The way I have used successfully with that tinsel wire is to tightly wrap all the 
strands with ONE strand of very fine copper wire, then solder. Makes an 
excellent connection.

Aye, Laddie. My favorite is Lagavulin, although I'll stoop to Laphroig (The 
Frog) when necessary.
