Yep, we used to joke about the Series vehicles that the way to tell if they 
were out of oil was if they stopped leaking.  But strangely enough, I ran a 
1996 Disco 1 for 17 years and the only oil leak it ever had was from a rear 
differential pinion seal failure.  I've only had its replacement, a 2013 
Disco 4, for a few months so it's too early to tell whether the problem is 
still fixed or not.
