Yes. That's him.
He is a very forthcoming, honest, and reliable individual, a ham radio op, and
is very easy to deal with. I am very pleased with his offerings. He also
specially made me a 1T4 for my R-1004. He sent it to me within a week of
my request, and it works perfectly.
I am very pleased with the way his solid-state tubes work. They are truly
plug-and-play. Both his 1L6 and his 1T4 exhibit better characteristics than
the original tubes: the HFO is far more stable, and there is far less noise
produced. RF sensitivity appears greatly enhanced too.
As an experiment, he has also made a 12AU7 replacement for use in
VTVMs. I am going to give it a workout, then will report back to him on it.
Although at this point, 12AU7s are not particularly difficult to find or buy, I am
anticipating what may happen down the road.
At least one other fellow, a collector of VTVMs, has also expressed interest
in these.
