Hello Wayne,

The suitability of your 6" insulators will depend on the maximum VSWR you
expect and the conductivity of the surface to which you attach the
insulators. While slate, ceramic, cement fibre or felt roof tiles may be
good insulators in the summer, when loaded with road dust trapped in snow,
that hypothesis may fail.

I am considering putting up a long wire or a loop in my attic, utilizing -
believe it or not - military surplus Czech field phone wire; I have about a
half mile of it available. The wire has 4 individually insulated strands
inside a sleeve.

How do you attach the wires to the supports (rafters, etc.?). I was going
to use some ceramic stand-offs about 6 in long that I bought from Fair
Radio.

Thanks,

Wayne
