This is nothing new. About a quarter century ago, I was on my way from
Guam to Al Khobar, S.A. and had to lay over in Manila a couple of days to get
my Saudi visa. So I went out to Corregidor. The ferry was pretty full.
There were three round eyes aboard, me and two Australians. All of the rest
were Japanese. Around the same time, my favorite beach bar on Guam was torn
down to make room for yet another Japanese tourist hotel.
