[ARC5] Brass Tubing

By the way, for my tubing reinforcement idea, I meant 9/32 tubing to go over the 1/4 in tubing as a locking collar, not 9/16.

And it now occurs to me that you might have to slot the 9/32 tubing as well, to get it to expand enough to go over the expanded 1/4 in tubing. but that should be no problem.

Also, I note looking at the Aircraft Spruce website, you can get 3/8 in dia aluminum solid rod for 85 cents a foot. The inside of the fitting over the tuning spine on a receiver is right at 3/8 in dia. So take some of that rod, drill a 1/4 in hole in the center a half inch or so deep, and then do some work with a file and sandpaper to take a wee bit off the OD of the rod so it will slide into the fitting, and take a little bit more out of the center hole in the rod until it can be tapped onto the spline. Thus it would self-supporting. I need to get an order off to Aircraft Spruce soon for airplane stuff, so I will order some of that rod and give that a try.

By the way, I took a look at the available sizes and wall thicknesses of AL tubing at Aircraft Spruce and none of them will work - the ID's are either too big or too small.
