Hi,
It may also well be that Rick was told that by somebody else and was
just passing along what he thought was the right info. I don't have one
of those transmitter (just command receivers) and it seems plausible. I
remember reading somewhere else the same thing Rick said. But I wondered
how that was accomplished. I see only the VFO, two PA tubes, and that
eye tube. How did they get one to be an xtal oscillator? Maybe the eye
tube? So now I know they didn't.
