Hi Andrew
The HP-23 doesn't really have the right voltages the run the TX. Plate voltage is too high and the heater is too low. I would build one from scratch. You'll need 24vdc at a few amps, 550vdc @ 200ma, 250vdc, and 180vdc reg for the osc. There is an easy way to fabricate the rear power plug. I think most folks here would froun on modtifations to the transmitter, unless it already been chopped up. The SCR-274N transmitters run well in a stock configuration. Which model do you have?? Going to run it on CW or AM??

Subject: [ARC5] ARC-5 Transmitter Power Supply options/suggestions
Hello Everyone , I was wondering about your experiences in building from scratch
vs. modifying something like a Heathkit Hp-23.. Would a adjustable supply be
too risky if the voltage could accidentally be turned too high ? Any leads for
the source of a power transformer .? Running the Xmtr at minimal power would be
fine for me.
Many thanks, Andrew Kopke
