[ARC5] Pre-ARC-5 rigs.

The "other sources" re the RA-1 are primarily anecdotal. And I do realize that these "sources" could fall into the same category as those which allege that AE was on some sort of "spy mission" to overfly Japanese territory in the Marshall Islands. (I don't believe that.) But when doing research, one has to consider all the possibilities.

Oh, come on, Neil.  If AE had a
Bendix RA-1 (and if I had to voice an
opinion I'd say No), it doesn't matter where she acquired it
 from.  It wasn't
then and isn't now a military radio.  Someone may have
 bought her a beer in
some O-club, too, but that would'nt make it a military
 beer.

Plus, "Other sources allege", when translated into plain
 English, is just
"the rumor mill says".  Bottom line is that the woman
 was just a disaster
waiting to happen.  And it did.
