Or a grid dip meter, known value cap or inductor and an LM or BC-221. Oh,
and paper, pencil and much caffotine. Aside from my current "need work"
OS-8s, I've never had a scope so alternate methods had to be used. I'm
considering redesigning one of the OS-8s for somewhat higher frequency
operation since it's in "kit" form. It probably will get a new CRT in the
process.

Let's see ... DL7YHF(?) PIC-based freq meter, homebrew [dual] 9850 signal
generator using a store bought pre-programmed PIC (same as the one planned
for the walkermobile VFO), 20kohm/v multimeter, DVM, cheaper version of the
eBay LC meter (no case so costs about half as much), several grid dippers
which all need some attention* and a heap of Low Peasant Cunning.

* The one here at the moment is an Eico with PS issues. The plan of the
moment is to remove the existing PS and replace it with a dual 18650 LiIon
cell-powered DC-DC converter for the B+ and 7806 regulator for the heater.
Future plans involving a GDO-less set of coils are still somewhat fluid.

How insanely jealous would you be to know I've checked out in a PT-17
Bulldog conversion, SNJ and T-28? (I won't get into the jets. :-D)

Including that fun time just after launch when you're busy cranking up the
gear. F4F & FM were the same while the F6F went to a less strenuous
hydraulic system which gave the pilot more time to pay attention to flying.

We must discuss this in email ,,, parent to parent.

Sometimes I pretend to be normal but it gets boring so I go back to being
