Hi Ken,

thanks for all of your comments.

Yes...the BFO coil. I'm blaming my keyboard <evil grin>. I'll contact
Fair. I've bought some things from them before. If nothing else I can
build a BFO for it. There is already an audio out transformer jammed
onto the back porch - probably from an AA5. That shows up in the
pictures. That transformer can be relocated under the deck if I don't
get an exact replacement. When the time comes I might ask around on
some of the lists about missing sheet metal parts or even the BFO coil.
The BFO may have more than just the coil missing..time will tell. I
haven't checked the heater strings on this one yet but so far I have
only one that has been rewired for 12 volt operation and the rest are
wired for 24 volts. Because 12 volts is so common and so easily
available I had considered rewiring all of them for 12 volts but I have
decided to rewire the 12 volt unit back to being "right". I have a lot
of 12 volt batteries if I lose commercial power so a pair of those will
operate my receivers if I want to play. I also have several 24 Volt AC
transformers and they are common enough. The rear connector has been
replaced by an octal socket and all of the dynamotor bits have been
removed. I don't expect to replace any of those but this isn't a museum
restoration. Some of my receivers have all of those parts and they will
be keeping them. If I live long enough and I find all the bits I'll
restore them to all original. That's not likely, though and is not my
top priority.

Because it is *SO* dirty I'll probably disassemble this one further than
any I have taken apart before. It will take a lot of time. But this is
my hobby and I'll enjoy every minute. I have begun taking pictures of
some of my projects so eventually I can do show and tell.

73,

Bill KU8H
