The transmitter power output of NSS at Annapolis, MD (I think it was 17.4 kc) was about 800 kw.  The output from two separate transmitters was combined in the output circuits.  The efficiency of the antenna was very small, so most of that power was dissipated in heat in the tuning and feed system and in the antenna and ground system.
