I have seen cold solder joints develop spontaneously at the wiring attach points for the coil pack sockets. I had a 1.5-3 MHZ set that was working just fine and then quit. I believe the local oscillator was the problem. My girlfriend was not amused when I proudly showed the radio to her and then began troubleshooting it when it would not work. Wayne
