Anyone here aware of "The Third Method" of generating an SSB signal?

A friend and fellow ham, Bob Leo, who was/is an EE professor at Montana 
State University in Bozeman was very instrumental in designing this.

It is not used at all in commercial gear as far as I know.

I have a definitive paper on it around here somewhere.
