Well, I suppose if it is a high grade detergent, it might no affect
bluing. Since bluing is chemically bonded to the surface and rust
isn't, if might not affect bluing. Except for that phase, especially
Remington, gunmakers went through when bluing was spray paint. As
wonderful cost saving it was!
I guess a test would be to blue a piece of steel and try.
