Please tell me exactly how 1) you set up your scope, 2) what kind of scope probe you used,
3) where you connected it, and 4) what your display looked like. And these are not all the
questions I need to ask either.

Yes.

About 30 Hz. or less.

It is a ramp (although not a very GOOD ramp), at about 30 Hz repetition rate.
I am using the sweep generator's ramp output to 1) sweep the signal generator (FM it) to
about 16 KHz wide, and 2) to sync the scope. 3) the scope is set up for X-Y operation. The
ramp is driving the X axis, and the output of the IF transformer is coupled through an RF
probe to the Y axis. The swept signal from the signal generator (FMed by the ramp) is
connected to the grid of the mixer tube.
The RESULT is what I wanted, but the CONNECTIONS are not anything like those I have
studied.
Have you looked at my photos yet?
Here is what I get with an RF probe, the detector tube removed, and the RF probe connected
to the output of the last IF transformer.

Photo 1 shows what I got yesterday when trying to use just the regular scope probe
connected to the IF transformer output.
