Hi Bruce,

I have considered doing that. Aside from watching out for new birdies in 
the scheme, some of us prefer a Rube Goldberg approach (evil grin). 
That's really just a small twist on the Q5er approach and even closer to 
the variable passband circuits (non DSP type). Single band receivers 
make the spurious/birdie thing easier.
