So, the SCR-625 Mine Detector Set was in reality a radio?

Then those headphones the guy wore were for receiving transmissions from someone who told him where the mines were?  Why didn't they make that other guy go find the mines if he knew so much?  Probably had to do with rank, I guess.

By the way, I have looked inside quite a few radios and they most all have wires inside, so they are not wireless.
