[ARC5] Inspired Hack Job

Conversion to an SSB exciter/vfo was my first thought too. The article appeared in CQ (don't know when), reappeared in the "Command Sets" conversion manual (pg 96) and again in the "Surplus Conversion Handbook" (pg 109). There is no picture in the article although from the text my impression is that the "arteeest" did a lot more work than was called for. My second thought is that this is something else altogether.
