Really? My impression is that the company name on the panel has taken an
original, blank PI and modified it with a switch and pot salvaged from
some control box. Originals don't have manufacturers marked like that,
AFAIK.

I didn't look. Looking at the unit, I see nothing that would have required
removal of the bottom plate in the mods.
