Hi John,

I've been looking at that connection to use it in a (reversible) 
modification as a gain reduction line for monitoring the transmitter 
without use of a sidetone. It would remove or reduce the screen voltage 
on the IF and RF amps when that terminal is pulled to ground. With 
blocked grid keying in the transmitter It would afford full QSK CW.
