How can the Navy kick it out if it is a National Historic Place? That doesn't carry any weight with the Navy?

My great uncle, Richard Lamborn commanded a PT during WWII up until the end. His boat along with many others was burned after the end of the war somewhere in the Phillipeans to clear now useless inventory.

Sorry, Ken but my AN/ARC-4 is not available. I've got too many years getting it together to let it go. As it is I do not have the correct mount and only the remote control head, not the pilot's control head. I did sell an unmodified ARC-4 at MRCG a few years ago. so I'm sure there's a few more out there. If your contact person does acquire one I can probably donate a set of crystals if they are needed. Fair Radio still has dynamotors. BTY don't let them make the mistake I did: The mount for the AN/ARC-1 looks the same but the power connector is upside down compared to the ARC-4 and the wiring is all different. There is also a warning tag to that effect on the mount. It could possibly be re worked with effort.

Here is what wikipedia says of PT-658:

"
    PT-658

Perhaps the best example of a surviving Higgins 78-foot (24 m) boat is PT-658,
which was
completely restored to her original 1945 configuration from 1995 to 2005. PT-658
is now fully
functional and afloat, using the three original Packard V12 5M-2500 gas engines.
It is the
only 100% authentically restored U.S. Navy PT boat actually operational today.
PT-658 is
located in Portland, Oregon, at Navy Operational Support Center Portland's Swan
Island Pier.
The group wishes to maintain the boat as a living, breathing artifact dedicated
to the history
of the PT force of the Second World War. PT-658 was added to the National
Register of
Historic Places in 2012."
