Some details on FM'ing yours? With an 18X crystal multiplication, would
not take much to deviate the TX a little....
We have talked with a guy running a modern multimode ricebox transceiver -
it can transmit/receive AM on 2 meters and that can serve in a pinch for
someone not operating a "proper" Mil VHF AM set. There are also a few
Gonset-type AM rigs around here as well.
There was a 2 meter AM net running during last springs' MRCG military field
day down in Santa Paula CA. MAW's, T-12, and some kinda Hallicrafters rig
as well.
It's true - the limit is the number of like-minded guys (within short
ranges).......But someone also said CW would die the same fate LOL....
My Long Island NY high school radio club (circa 1966) ran a TDQ into an 11
element yagi on 2 meters - fond memories....Now THAT's a boat anchor....
