I've cleaned-up the simple converter and mounted it in
a cute little "Ranger" model 120 multiband light aircraft set.

Here is the converter build:.

The coils are mounted in opposite directions to minimize
coupling. The little cap is sticking off the board because
there are two busses there to "tack in" different values
of coupling cap between the two tuned circuits.
I settled on 6 pFd, but wasn't much better than 12 pFd.
The Input and Output shielded leads are marked
with Morse "I" and "O" respectively.

I don't have large heat shrink tubing at the moment,
so carefully wrapped the circuit in some wide tape
until I can get some tubing from Tanners to encase the board.

Hooked it up, tuned it up and then tucked it under the chassis
in series with the antenna lead:

Will look better when I get that heat shrink.
Yes- it needs some cleaning. Later ;-).

The radio has no BFO; it is designed for AM and that
is my intended use. Despite tuning "backwards" because
of the "high-end" mix crystal, I'm happy with it and
it sounds excellent on 75 mtr AM signals.
Sensitivity and image rejection are good.
Going to pair it with a "Ranger" aircraft transmitter.

Got to build a few more of these....
160-80-40 in front of my big Navy Longwave receivers,
maybe....fun!
