Well, whether fortunately, or unfortunately, I have a very strong stubborn

The 1.5 - 3 MHz units are pretty difficult to find.

Oh, yes. I have at least 4 hacked BCB units here with missing BFOs. 

However, Fair Radio Sales still has brand new 239 KHz. BFO transformers 
for sale for $7.50 each. I bought 5 the other day in hopes that I can restore at 
least one of the hacked receivers I own.

Well, in my experience, the 1.5 - 3.0 MHz receivers are plenty selective 
enough. They have a 705 KHz IF.
