[ARC5] 10 meter BC-454 - another bit of news.

I admire your tenacity on this project, Ken! 
 
It's far beyond my capability or inclination. 
 
I expect that your stability problems would be 
even worse running the L.O. frequency above the 
signal frequency! 
 
If I am EVER inclined to use a "command set" 
receiver again for upper bands, I will revisit 
what I did back around 1956 or so and use the 
1.5-3.0 receiver as an I.F. for a Morrow 5BR-1 
(or -2) mobile converter. One of the BCB units 
would provide better selectivity, but I heard it 
is rare to find one of those with an intact BFO. 
 
This is what I did for a main receiver for about 
two years then.
