If my calculations are correct, there is 15.6 db increase in noise output when an antenna is connected. There is an increase of 6 times between the noise output without the antenna and with it. 2 V pk-pk without and 12 v pk-pk with it. I am using the formula db=20Log (V1/V2). 15.6 db seems significant to me. Ken W7EKB
