Ya know, that IS a possibility I had never thought of.
For one thing, the quality of the articles written and published on this kind of
hacking were, as a rule, very mediocre...at least in my opinion.
As far as I can tell, none were properly tested before they were published.
I am reminded of that very radical hack job done on the BC-779 entitled "The
Ultimate Super Pro". If you have never seen that one, it is a thorough
education in what NOT to do to a decent receiver.
Some time ago, I bought two BC-779s from a friend: one was all original and
included the power supply. The other was a completed example of that
radical hack-job I mention above. I am anxious to restore and test both.
