An historical restoration group is seeking specific information
on the longwave "LF" transmitters used in WWII towers.
Established towers (vs. "on the fly" towers nearer the front")
among other comm systems,
were almost always outfitted for an "LF up, HF down" system.
This was also common in civilian airports from the late '20s
all the way into the early '60s and longer overseas.
Most widely used pair was Tower on 278KC and
aircraft on 3105 or 6210 KC.

Specifically, they need to know what type of LF transmitter
might have been found in a WWII Army Air Corps tower
in Europe? My sectionals show almost all of them had
an LF transmitter, but of course it doesn't say what model it was.

I expect the actual LF transmitter would have been located
remotely, under the "Crow's Foot" or similar LF antenna
and the transmitter operated via wireline.
If you have information on that, they would need the specific
equipment used to remote the transmitter.

The idea is to outfit a WWII ETO tower as authentically as possible.
I can help them with HF/VHF Command and Liaison,
but I have no good info on the LF transmit configuration.
