Holy Cats! This is getting bothersome.

There is definitely something around the 12K8 tube socket or tuning cap that 
is just plain loose.

Still haven't found it.

I am going to take a close look at C-10A and B, although I really doubt the 
problem is there.

And while I have the cover off (for the fortieth time) I'll solder the tuning cap.

There is defiintely something loose: if you give the case a mild whack, the 
frequency jumps and stays: hit it again, and it jumps again, but to another 
frequency, etc. Hit it just right, and it sounds like something scraping.

If this was only a coil problem, it would or might change frequency when 
irritated, but wouldn't jump to a new frequency and stay there.

Crapola. I'm getting ticked off...

I'm going to go ahead and check S+N/N just for kicks.
