You missed my point entirely, or at least took some pain not to answer it.

The Detrola Model 438 is the commercial designation of the BC-1206-A. The
"Instruction Manual For Operation and Maintenance of Radio Receiver BC-1206-()"
(USAAF T.O. 16-40BC1206-2, 5 August 1945) states:

--BEGIN QUOTE--
Radio Receiver BC-1206-A is sometimes known as "Model 438,"
Radio Receiver BC-1206-C is sometimes known as "Model 524 Beacon Receiver," and
Radio Receiver BC-1206-D is sometimes known as "Model Ranger Model 111-C Range Receiver."
--END QUOTE--

FWIW, the BC-1206-B is an copy of the early Model 438 Detrola by Warwick Manufacturing
Company (CWF).

The Setchell-Carlson Model 524 was produced in at least four different versions:
BC-1206-C (early model)
BC-1206-C (late model)
BC-1206-CM
BC-1206-CM2

Any reference to a "SCR-438" is clearly an error. None of the BC-1206-* receivers
were assigned an SCR- system number, nor even a "RC-" system number.

The Setchell-Carlson Model 512 beacon band receiver (12-vdc, 250-vdc) was assigned
a JAN system designation of AN/ARR-13 (R-76/ARR-13).

The Setchell-Carlson Model 591 beacon band receiver (dry-battery A and B supply) was
assigned a JAN system designation of AN/CRR-1.
