Have no fear!  An emergency priority telex is being dispatched to Wright Field even as we speak, with info copies to OK City and Ft Gordon.  In response the Air Force will issue a TCTO for all such Detrolas to be modified within 30 days.  The FAA probably will issue an AD Note for any civilian applications.  The Signal Corps will urgently contact its units and ask what an airplane is.

By the way, I found two things of interest in a P-47N pilot's manual.  One is what they call a Detrola also was referred to as an "SCR-438."  The other is that the picture of the "Detrola" shows it has a label that says "Permanent Equipment." - although what they show is actually a Setchell Carlson 524.
