OK- several people have asked now,
so "you asked for it" ;-)
Yes, Mike.... I know... :-D

> Should I do the same with my (maybe two) copies of the CQ compendium

First- Since the book is untreated, wash your hands well
after handling it. Did you think all those little illnesses-
sniffles, headache, sour stomach, sore joints etc.-
were just random?
And when you're working on the bench, did you think
all those screws you drop or go missing was just you,
being clumsy? No, my friend. "The Screw Gremlins"
or only one of the hexes on that cursed tome.

If you can't find a local practitioner of VooDoo to take
the bad JuJu off the book, keep at least 3 (5 is better)
red chicken feathers spaced-out in the pages.
This will keep the evil spirits occupied and they
will leave you alone, but may still infect your radios
if you leave the book too close to them at night.

> PS: what is a GreeGree Man Box?

"The Gree Gree Man" is like "The Boogie Man," only
with a VooDoo twist, from deep in the lore of New Orleans.
He is similarly used by kids on each other:
"You bedduh not go in dat place cuz
the Gree Gree Man gone get you."
The GreeGree Man is a powerful voodoo priest:
"...the greatest of New Orleans voodoo hierophants
was a man... called "The Last of the Voodous,"

Doctor Jean Gree-Gree, the original "Doctor John."

... this man, whose name became

as synonymous with voodoo as that of Marie Laveau,

went by the legal name of John Montanet

and claimed to be the descendant of African kings...."

A "Gree Gree Man Box" is essential for any
South Louisiana home. It's a container "charmed" by
the local Gree Gree Man. It keeps the "bad JuJu"
and "hoodoo" of hexed items inside so it can't
play havoc with you or infect your things.
