That likely explains it, then - earlier ARA. I know I've seen it on
something rare, must've been those photos Mike posted of the Type K set up.
I know I've seen it on the front of many racks.

Always wondered if they saw this little drawer as an item that could be
tailored for some specific purpose, albeit simple wiring changes inside
since the power adapter and a couple other types also existed. If so,
having a way of keeping the drawer with the radio would've been handy.
