[ARC5] My R-25/ARC-5 and ARA CBY-46104

My CBY-46104 is S/N 4985. It has the usual
adaptations of RF Gain pot plus BFO and LIM
switches added to the original front panel
of "the box." Previous owner engraved the
functions onto that panel. Dynamotor mount
is still intact but the rear connector was
changed out to an Amphehol 6-pin male.

I HAD one that I bought new around 1957 or so
and converted to use as the I.F. for a Morrow
5BR1 mobile converter. I used that setup as
my primary HF receiver for several years. I
still had the receiver when a tornado took my
house and most everything else down. I didn't
have room to keep it in my storage locations,
so it, a beautiful BC-221 and LM-323 (I think)
went to landfill. An AN/ARC-1 that I had put
a VFO into accompanied those items.

My R-24 BCB receiver is similar but has a
4-pin Cinch-Jones female connector on rear
panel and only a "volume" control on front.
