There are a few models..the Setchell Carlson model 524 is the most
common..is for 24v single supply only with a 28D7 for the audio..the 24v
supplies the B+ as well..a few caps ..replace the bypasses also the coupling
caps can give trouble..no bfo of course ..the filter caps bad also..there is
also a 512 model that is for 12volts but this requires a separate B+ supply
about 150v will do ..different tubes..may be made by Detrola but no maker on
mine..the 512 has a switch for a single beacon frequency or the normal 200
to 400khz..they work well but the construction is poor compared to the ARC5
receivers..the resistors were ok ..the loctals tend to be microphonic..at
least here anyway..if you need the schematic I can send..warm up the
iron,hi!..73 de Pat/EI7CN

Hi List-readers,

Does anyone know where I can buy 1/4 inch x 3 inch UNF cap-head screws.

1/4 inch UNF = 28 threads per inch (a fine thread)

Thanks,

  Leslie Smith

A friend has a Henry Linear Amp and the tube has died. I'm posting for
him. He needs a replacement.

It's an Eimac 3CX3000A7. Preferably new, but would consider known good used.

Also what do folks know about the Svetlana 3CX3000A7 or the Chinese tubes?
Svetlana claims that it's an exact replacement for the Eimac tube.

Thanks,

-John
