[ARC5] Lend Lease

There exists a very interesting book, written sometime just after WWII, 
as I recall.  The title of the book was "From Maj. Jordan's Diary" and 
detailed that officer's duties related to lend-lease.  My point of 
mention is that, in this book, the author outlines the outright theft of 
millions of dollars in materials not remotely related to the war effort 
by the Soviet Union.  They shipped everything from bathroom fixtures, 
pianos, expensive clothing, and furniture off to the USSR by the ton.  
Apparently there were those in the Roosevelt cabinet and Congress that 
thought that "Uncle Joe" was a fine fellow.   I may try and find a copy 
of that book, again.  I think I read it in the late 50's!  Anyway, just 
an aside.....
