RIGHT!
I believe that modulated oscillators were banned by the FCC sometime in the
60's below 420mc.
At one point in the 60's I had an APX-6 funtioning well on 1215mc into a
homebrew 32 element collinear for reliable 30 mile contacts with a similar
unit.
