Thank you very much John. I have come up with a
puzzle. I knew that there were a great many variations of
the BC-221 but mine is not covered in the most comprehensive
handbook I've been able to find on the web, TM 11-300 from
the Glowbugs site. This covers the variations up to AL but I
have an AN I guess a very late version. There may be little
difference between this and some of the others. I do have
the schematic and parts list from the calibration book but
it would be interesting to learn something more about it.
Mine is in a wooden box. Its painted flat black on the
outside but I think was originally OD since the bottom and
some of the interior is that color. I don't have the canvas
case but the wood case has snaps for it. I do have the web
type carrying belt. I've had it running several hours and
its still going so I think I am lucky with the filter caps.
Also, mine does not have a spare standard crystal or
clip for it but does have a set of spare tubes inside. Also,
it has only one L wrench. Not exactly mint but in good
working condition. I recently had to clean out a storage
area and there it was. I had nearly forgotten I had it.
