[ARC5] Tuning box

I never say never, but one would think that an R-31/ARC-5 would have
been mentioned in at least one of the postwar ARC-5 manuals. 6 vac is
also a reasonable and easily available test voltage for interphone
operation. There is no voltage present in the BC-450-A other than audio
voltages, so it's unclear why the stamp would be on it if were not
required for operation in some way. Advisory stamps on mods to existing
equipment, such as "Connected for 600 ohm operation" are common in US
equipment to alert the technician to changes. But that's all I can give
you at the moment.
