hello , my ARC5 rack is for two txs only , but i cannot get at the serial number easily .the rx rack is for 3 . by the way , the rx for the 1115 was the 1116 , and was pretty good . it was a double superhet, and my late friend told me that they used to be able to receive the BBC long wave transmissions while flying along in the south atlantic. i had one , but sold it about 15 years ago . the RAF bomber command tx/rx was the T1154 and R1155. they were pretty good for their time and were a revolution when they were introduced. i have a T1154M anf R1155B . these are in regular use. i have had the 1155 since about 1950.they go jolly well , and for some reason the audio of the 1154 cuts through QRM and is readable in poor conditions.
last saturday was the unveiling of the memorial to Bomber Command , and as a tribute we tried to get as many 1154/1155s on the air we managed 5 . considering they were only expected to last a few months before the aircraft was shot down , they have lasted amazingly well. alan
